Dominick L. Paragano

Dominick L. Paragano, founder and owner of renowned building company D.L. Paragano Homes, first began building homes with his father at the age of eight. Since then, he has built and renovated over 125 homes and office buildings, and managed numerous commercial properties.  Known throughout the industry for his superior customer service, it is Mr. Paragano’s distinct attention to detail which has earned him the trust of his clients, and numerous accolades.

Mr. Paragano’s distinct executive-style custom homes can be seen throughout Morris and Essex counties, and include communities such as: Old Brookside Estates, Mountain Lakes Estates, and perhaps most notably, Melrose at Mendham, which earned his peers’ acclaim and 1997’s Award of Excellence for the year’s Best Single Family Home.  The project also marked the start of the “Paragano Signature Porch” which has since become the trademark of D.L. Paragano Homes.  Featuring masterfully designed mahogany floors, bead board ceilings, skylights, custom columns, and handcrafted cedar railings; these covered porches have been requested and integrated into more than 75 homes.

Upon mastering the craft of constructing new homes, Mr. Paragano expanded his repertoire to include renovations. Shortly-thereafter in 2001, he remodeled an 1800s farmhouse for which he received the New Jersey Builders’ Association’s prestigious Sales and Marketing (SAM) Award for Best Renovation/Remodel Project.  Maintaining consistent quality throughout his career, Mr. Paragano earned his second Award of Excellence in 2006 for Best Single Family Home, then his third in 2008 for Best Single Family Custom Home.

In addition to building and renovating custom homes, Mr. Paragano has also developed or renovated numerous commercial properties including Mount Olive’s Paramount Plaza, and the 5 Points Shopping Center in Union. He has also built and managed several self-storage properties in New Jersey’s Essex, Monmouth, Morris and Sussex counties.

Mr. Paragano’s pristine reputation extends far beyond construction. After many years of committed service within the organization, in 2011 he was elected President of the New Jersey Builders’ Association.  In this new role, Mr. Paragano may draw on his past experience as President of the Community Builders and Remodelers Association (CBRA), as well as numerous other positions he has held at both the State and local levels.

Mr. Paragano has devoted his life to the communities in which he lives and works, serving on the Board of Directors for The Shepherds of Youth, a not-for-profit charitable organization dedicated to supporting the underprivileged children of Newark, as well as individuals seeking vocation in the Catholic Church. Mr. Paragano also sits on the Board of Directors of The Paragano Family Foundation, and has coached both Little League and Babe Ruth baseball teams for more than ten years.

A cum laude graduate and Sigma Phi Epsilon brother at Villanova University, Mr. Paragano earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance in 1980, as well as a Master of Business Administration degree in Marketing from Seton Hall University in 1984.  He joins six generations of Paragano builders and takes great pride in supporting and growing that historic family legacy. “I feel honored to have had the opportunity to both benefit from and add to the Paragano family name, and most all, I take great pride in continuing my father’s and great-great grandfather’s tradition of excellence, states Mr. Paragano.  “There is no greater satisfaction than building a home for and becoming friends with each new client and their families.  To me, that’s truly ‘Building on a Family Tradition.’”
